Basic Water Rescue - $65
Designed for those who do not need to be trained as lifeguards
but require or would benefit from being certified to prevent, recognize
and respond to many types of aquatic emergencies. Successful completion
of this course includes a certificate valid for three years.
This class teaches easy-to-remember water rescue techniques and safety
tips. It is excellent for camp counselors, daycare workers, teachers,
parents and anyone else who is around water on a regular basis whether
it be for recreational or professional reasons. Ages 12+. Red
Cross certified.

Safety Training for Swim Coaches FAST TRACK
OPTION - $65
This two-part course was developed by the American Red Cross along
with USA Swimming for ages 15+. It identifies life-threatening and other
hazardous situations that could occur in and around the water and
teaches the skills needed to prevent and handle them.
Topics include: responsible coaching, safety awareness in competitive
swimming, emergency planning and response, common injuries and medical
conditions.
In part one coaches will conduct a self study that concludes with a
written exam through USA Swimming.

There is no fee for this portion. Please print a copy of your
receipt/certification that shows you've successfully completed the
written test to Body Zone
on May 23.
After successfully completing part one coaches partake in a pool skills
session at Boy Zone to complete part two. See schedule below.
Certificates, valid for three years, are issued after both parts are
completed satisfactorily.

*To be admitted to Body Zone's lifeguarding
program a prerequisite swim must be
successfully completed. Upon registering for lifeguarding,
a $15 non-refundable fee will be charged. If the lifeguard
candidate successfully completes the swim, the $15 will be
applied to the balance of the course fee. If the lifeguard
candidate fails the prerequisite swim the $15 can be applied to
private or semi-private swim lessons.
