Game of the Week Recap: Bulldogs vs. Blue Jays

Congratulations to the Wilson High School girls' lacrosse team in their first league win Monday night against Holy Name!  The Blue Jays came out strong and energetic in the first half, scoring 2 goals within the first 5 minutes.  Throughout the game #18 Bianca Angstadt found the net 3 times while #8 Lindsay Shields added a pair.  On the other end of the field in goal, #73 Julie Mina had nearly 30 saves!  The goalies have the most important job on the field, and Mina definitely kept her mental game intact.  Great game Holy Name!

At half time the score was pretty even...judging by the first half it looked like Holy Name would take home the win.  Despite a slow start the Bulldogs came out fierce and fired up in the second half, scoring multiple unanswered goals.  The final score was 11-7.  Laura McCanney led the Bulldogs' attack with 3 goals and an assist.  Despite McCanney's hat-trick, the Bulldogs had 6 other scorers throughout the game - a very versatile attack!  Congratulations again to the Wilson team, and good luck to both teams in the future!
